How can anyone mess up nail clippers so badly?
Nail clippers should have been the most basic and straightforward purchase of the decade, but somehow these are so bad that I'm taking too much time to write an actual review to warn others. These clippers have a light that is so bright that it blinds you as you attempt to clip the nails. You can't even angle them in another direction to redirect the light because the light reflects off the nail surface right into your eyes. If you would like to replicate the experience before purchase, remove the shade from your nearest lamp with a 200 watt bulb, place yourself one foot away from it, and stare directly at it as you repeatedly try to trim the nails. Or stare into the sun. The light output is about the same, and both will blind you. Another fun feature is the way that those darling mini-sun bulbs stick so far out that they makes it almost impossible to get the nails into the actual cutting blades. Instead of being safety-oriented, these lighted guards are completely in the way. You are left trying to fumble your kids' fingers and toes into spaces that are way too small, but the good news is that your eyes will be too stunned to notice. Thankfully the set also comes with the world's smallest nail file to manually file the parts you couldn't trim with the clippers. However you still might want to keep another file on hand as the enclosed file is comically small. I'm pretty sure was actually designed for doll usage. We have used products from this company for years and have never hesitated on buying anything from them before. I will read the reviews more closely going forward. Lesson learned.
