They didn’t dig tunnels. The material seems too tough for them. We did the starter tunnels as suggested, but they sniffed at them, died by them, but never dug anything. It was painful to watch. All the ants just slowly died, then the ants became desperate about having dead bodies in there. I would remove the dead ones and more would die. There were legs in the holes like their legs came off trying to dig? I don’t know. It was a gift, so kind of horrible.
