I bought this because it is stainless steel. Being stainless steel, I expected it not to rust when positioned next to the kitchen sink. The bottom quickly rusted out badly (picture attached), staining the countertop . I own several other stainless steel kitchen products that I have positioned around the sink, none have rusted even after years of use. Do not buy this paper towel holder if you plan to use it in a wet area.
