The concept is great and, if it worked properly, it would absolutely increase storage capacity 100 percent. Having said that, I will make a few suggestions to the designer: Due to the design, it is not conducive to high heels or wedges. It merely lifts one side of the platform--this allows the shoe to keep falling off. (A better design would be to allow the spine of the unit to be adjusted for the heights of the heel). Also, the heel stop is too short, which allows the shoe to fall off the platform--AND it keeps coming out of the slot. In my opinion, it should have been made taller and fixed in permanently. Last, but not least, the platform has ridges but, being molded plastic, the shoe doesn't really stay on well. A better design (again, in my opinion) is to have deeper grooves or a material that would give more friction between the shoe and the unit.
