A total scam!
So thankful I escaped last night without making a purchase. While leaving Westfield Brandon last night, having just spent the past several hours searching (and ultimately finding) a prom dress for my daughter, I was approached by a nicely dressed gentleman, a sales clerk from Oro Gold. He asked if he could have a moment of my time. I was tired but happy from our successful hunt for the perfect dress so I guess my guard was down and I allowed myself to be led into the seemingly upscale store. The salesman then began to tell me how beautiful I was but he could improve my looks with his special eye serum. He applied some underneath my left eye and then produced a mirror so I could behold the magical transformation. Admittedly, it did seem to work and for a moment and I actually considered making a quick purchase, but I'm the type that normally likes to research products, and definitely decided I would do my research when he informed me the eye serum cost $369.00. I attempted to stand up from the chair I was sitting in but he gently pushed me back down and told me he would also throw in another product for free. I declined and once again started to stand up when he said, "how much did you just spend on your daughter's dress?" While none of his business, I was feeling somewhat overwhelmed and I responded that her dress was around $200. He then told me if I could afford the dress, I could afford the cream. He also said he would keep the store open late (the mall was closing in 10 minutes) and give me a free facial. Now there was no way in hell I was going to allow myself and my daughter to stay alone in a closed mall with this creep. At this point I just wanted to leave so I lied and told him I didn't have enough money in my account to cover the charge. I angrily stood up to leave and he told me to just let him see my card and he would attempt the charge and if it came back declined he would leave me alone. I don't care how good Oro Gold products might be, anyone that uses sales tactics like these is not going to get my business. I was furious!
