This phone does “not” have a “stay awake when the phone is charging” setting. I have verified this with the Samsung Telephone Support agent. This a “very unsafe” driving situation!!!!!!!!!! You need this setting especially if you use directions programs like Google Maps. For example, you are driving 70+ miles/hour on a terribly busy highway and following the directions & screen prompts from Google Maps. Obviously, an unsafe condition! Suddenly, your A42 5G screen turns off since its maximum setting is 10 minutes. Do you try to turn the phone back-on? Of course not. This setting is also used when you phone is USB connected to another computer! It’s nice to be able to use both at the same time with the added value that the phone is also being charged.
