You get what you pay for, Not good for class or work
I originally posted a better rating for this product, but after using it for a couple months, I have become more and more frustrated. To be fair, it's probably my own fault. There is a reason prices vary so much for these types of keyboards, and you definitely get what you pay for. If you want a keyboard for casual use, this one is fine. I made the mistake of thinking I was a casual user, and quickly discovered that this was not the case. The Good 1) The case is sturdy and pretty well-constructed. 2) Connecting it to my iPad was super easy. 3) It has a lot of useful function keys at the top that let you do things like change the volume, change brightness, etc. 4) It holds the iPad at a good angle for viewing, and it is fairly sturdy on a desk or table. The Bad 1) There is no way to tell how much charge you have left on the keyboard. This means that you will lose power at some point without expecting it. If you are a casual user, this won't matter. You can just come back to what ever you were doing later or go grab the charger. If you want to use this for class or meetings though, that luxury probably doesn't exist. This happened to me, and it was at a very inconvenient time. To avoid it, you should probably just charge they keyboard whenever you are thinking about it (my guess is that this will kill the battery quicker in the long run though). If you are like me, chances are you will forget to do this at some point as well. 2) The bluetooth connectivity is not good enough if you are a fast typer. I have had numerous classes in which I needed to type as quickly as possible, and see what I was typing without delay. While the delay on this keyboard isn't terrible, you will absolutely notice it if you are a fast typer, and it will get more and more annoying as you go on. Some of the keys require multiple or exceptionally hard presses as well (especially the space bar!). Between this and the delay, I would often miss important points during class trying to make sure that everything I typed was transcribed correctly on my iPad. 3) The keys are really really loud. A lot of my classes are small seminars, and it is blatantly obvious when I start typing. This has a lot to do with the bluetooth functionality too because I am capable of typing more quietly, but when I do, my iPad doesn't register which keys I have hit on the keyboard. All in all, the bad was way too much for me. I have upgraded to a more expensive keyboard (although I got it on sale during Black Friday so it wasn't that bad), and I have not had any of the issues I mentioned above. If you are using this at home for random things, you are probably fine. Unfortunately, I do not fall into that category. I'm not sure how no one else has had these complaints? Maybe most of them are casual users or maybe I got a faulty keyboard. All i can say is, as with a lot of electronics, it's better to spend more money up front (especially if you require a better product) than to waste time and money on the cheaper version before getting the more expensive stuff anyway.
