Rusted in 2 months!
I loved my Yukon Solo Stove at first. The fire is easy to light and really gets raging. But, within 2 months I noticed a lot of rust on the bottom of the stove. I thought the rust must surely be a defect because I bought and always used the expensive Solo Stove brand cover (once it was cool), always used the Solo Stove stand, never left it out in the rain and stored it under my covered farmers porch against the wall, away from the elements. I hadn’t even used it that many times - maybe 6-7. In short, I really couldn’t have taken better care of it. I was a little disappointed when I discovered the rust, but I figured defects happen and surely Solo Stove will make it right. As you will see in the picture, the rust isn’t horrible right now but anything that rusts this quickly will be in bad shape after a year or two. After I contacted Solo Stove to explain the situation, they told me rust wasn’t covered by their warranty and basically I was out of luck. When I responded that whether it fell under the warranty felt moot because their product shouldn’t rust so quickly after being well cared for, they didn’t even respond. I paid for the ultimate bundled so I’m even more upset and I now wonder whether everything will rust soon and all fall apart after a year or two. Like most Solo Stove customers, I was willing to pay more money Solo Stove because I wanted a fire pit that would last for many years and not rust out after a year or two, like most of the cheaper options. Apparently, Solo Stove is no different than the cheap fire pits and the company won’t stand behind their product. I strongly recommend buying a different fire pit unless you want to possibly buy a new Solo Stove every year or two.
