What a piece of shiz. I bought this for house projects to use while stripping romex to make life easier. I did a few practice runs to get use to the mechanism and tensioner crew. I decided to give it a go. It worked great for the first two cuts and and strips while connecting an easily accessible switch and an attic light fixture. Made three cuts with the cutter and 3 strips on 14-2 solid wire which was the same wire that i test ran. Two days later I went to install an additional fixture in a second (much tighter and way less accessible location in the attic) spot, and it wouldn’t strip. The cutter also just pinched the wire and didn’t even score all the way through the insulation. Try to imagine being As far into the attic as you can get, drenched in sweat, covered in a coat of itchy attic insulation, and your tool decides to take a dump. I had my diagonal cutter in my back pocket otherwise I would have chucked that f’in tool straight through my ceiling and had my wife climb up a ladder with another tool. I was pretty excited to knock out 10 recessed lights with this thing but that ain’t happening now. Thanks for clacreaing me, Klein. I have easily 10-12 Klein hand tools that I have owned for close to 15 years... these things didn’t last 15 days. I’m going to call Klein and see how their customer service treats my situation and come back with a follow comment. Stayed tuned.
