Don't cross contaminate lubes
After applying this product I almost instantly knew something was wrong. The belt seemed to "stick" to the deck when I walked across it while the belt was stationary. Two days later I actually used the treadmill for the first-time post application and I instantly began noticing the belt slowing down at each step I took. It made me very wobbly but I kept going on, in hopes I'd work in the new lube. Although it did seemingly get better, it never entirely went away. This was the same situation for the next three days and I also took notice that the belt felt much hotter after my runs than I had remembered it did prior to this lube. Then on day four, sometime twenty minutes into my run, the machine shut off. Overheated.
My research so far has now educated me that not all lubricants are compatible with each other. That if you used one type previously, and then switch to another you are likely to have problems. That the two different recipes will actually to the opposite of lubricate and drastically increase friction.
My belt now needs to be replaced, and I need to figure out how to clean off all remaining residue of this lube.
