Bought this camera as a Christmas gift for my child, but got very disappointed to find out it's "grey-market" camera. I called Canon and they confirmed that it has no US warranty and isn't meant for the US market. It's model 1070C004 (for Japan only) instead of 1070C001 (for US) On the battery charger it says "for use in countries other than U.S.A." Camera box has lots of Japanese writing, says "For Japan only" & "Contains no warranty outside Japan", which was partially covered by a sticker I called the seller (Abe's Electronics Center) and asked it they have a US version of this camera, but was told that they only have "import". I asked the guy on the phone to update the description of the camera they sell on Amazon to say it's an import and has no warranty (as some other sellers do) but he told me they wouldn't do it. I returned the camera next day. Now I have a VERY disappointed child and no camera.
