Woefully inadequate
What is there is well written, but, boy oh boy, there is inadequate information for beginners. For instance, on the indoor hydroponic supplies list, there is one timer. Nowhere does it state if it's for the lights (which are listed under hardware) or the pump. How often to use the pump and what the criteria are is also neglected. Should the Nufoam - which is listed as 2 yards on the list, but refered to as needing 3 yards elsewhere - be kept moist constantly? Are the roots supposed to grow into it and thus get their nutrient enriched water or do the small plugs get the nutrients through osmosis by touching the fiberfill and, again, how wet does it need to be? If the roots are not supposed to grow into the Nufoam, could they possibly grow enough in just the plug? Under Hardware, it lists T12 bulbs/fixtures. Well, it is my understanding that T12s have been banned since at least 2011. The "large plastic tub" listed - how many gallons are defined as large? And is this home-built system, which will cost at least several hundred dollars, be able to survive more than one growing season or does it have to be rebuilt each time? Anyway, there's lots more questions, but I appreciate the beginning of the beginning and the plant grid suggestions. I will have to do a lot more research, however, before I have the full blueprint.
