The back of the case gets more protection than the front of the phone.
It's a sad thing to see such an excellent case rendered more or less useless by a simple design flaw. The case itself really is quite nice. The openings for the ports are big enough to accept more than Apple's tiny connectors, the push-buttons are responsive, the rubber used is fairly robust, etc, etc, etc. All in all, it's clear that Spigen didn't cut corners here. The biggest issue, however, is the lip for the screen. On the *back* of the case are four little "feet" that raise the back of the case about half a millimeter off whatever surface you rest it on. No such luck for the front. The lip offers only the barest bit of space between the screen and whatever surface you set it on. A sewing needle actually prevents the case from resting flat if it's put screen-down. In effect, this is a good case for keeping in your pocket, but not at all helpful in protecting against drops where the screen would hit first. Heck, it wouldn't even protect against a grain of salt on a tabletop (not that salt needs to be protected against, but you get the idea). Because protecting the screen should be the #1 priority for a case described as "Armor," one that puts more effort into protecting its own backside than into protecting the screen is a 1-star affair in my opinion. Simply put, a case that does not protect the screen well is a case that has no use for me. Sad too, because this is a good case, otherwise (though at the current price point of $30, it's much less of a deal than it was at $15). TL;DR: Spigen has put more space between the back of the case and whatever surface you lay it on than the screen and that same surface. If the case costs $30 but a replacement screen costs $150, that seems to be backwards on the priorities. EDIT: (Warning, fairly "OCD" comments coming) Following a comment by John Vajda, I took one more look at the case (before sending it back). Here's what I believe is going on: Spigen has provided a pretty generous rubber "lip," but this lip meets the iPhone 6 screen where it's already curved downward. Since the screen continues to "bulge" outward, this results in much less protection at the center. A sewing needle will actually fit in under the screen at the very edges, just not the center. Spigen states 0.6mm, but this does not seem to be the actual space at the center of the screen. Since that's already a fairly small space, so to have less at the center raises issues, since I want the entire screen protected well. I still think this is a design flaw, not poor workmanship, however. The case is really nice and were it not for the lack of space between the screen and any surface (when laid face down), I would have happily continued using it. As it is, however, I sent it back and will wait until it becomes clear that Spigen have added more room on the front. (Personally, I think the little feet on the back of the case are pointless, and should instead be on the front, but I'm no manufacturer of cases, so there might be some issue I don't know about.) EDIT 2: (Some) people seem to be cranky about the fact that I rated a case so low for such a specific piece (85% seem to appreciate it, however). As I've said, the screen is the single most important piece of the entire phone, so it should get adequate attention. If Spigen ever addresses this in a future iteration of the case, I will happily revisit this review and change the stars to something in line with the changes. EDIT 3: Several comments to the effect that this is whining "because screen protectors." They're certainly a good idea, but I guess those with them have never watched their friends drop an iPhone from chest-high and see all that spidered glass. but hey, the screen protector guarded against scratches, so there's that (definitely go for tempered glass to guard against drops). Still the review is on the case itself, no? I'm not interested in "It's great protection against damage... after I buy additional protection against damage."
