Yup. It's purple.
Okay, you got me. I'm a sucker and I've been had. I haven't had good luck with toasters. They always seem to toast unevenly, take forever and wear out quickly. Now, granted, we have always purchased really cheap toasters, because we're cheap like that. So I decided to indulge. I was going to find a REALLY good toaster . Who knew they had toasters that cost over $100? Okay I was going to buy a PRETTY good toaster. I looked at everything from $20 to $99. They all have "meh" reviews. In fact, the only toaster that had stellar reviews was this one. I have had my Oster blender for the entire 15 years I've been married. Double bonus. And it was one of the cheaper ones I had looked at. Awesome. Must buy. When I got it, I realized right away this was nothing special. It takes forever to toast anything. The slice slots are fairly small. It won't toast my homemade bread if I let it rise a bit extra. It toasts the top of the bread more than the bottom. All in all, it's pretty comparable to the toasters I buy for $10-15 at Walmart. Weird that everyone else loved it. I went back and reread the reviews. Guess what I found? "Beautiful color." "I love that it's purple" "looks great in my kitchen" Huh. Take a $10 toaster and paint it purple; suddenly it's worth MUCH more.
I'm attaching a picture to show how the toaster does not toast all the way to the top of the bread and how it is always darker on top. This was on setting #3.
