***** READ*** I was contacted by a Federal Investigator from the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and have sent them the product. No reply from the company yet We bought this in OCT 2011 for a 250w light bulb. It was 250w with 5 am max draw. Long story short... I came down stairs and smelled a chemical smell. After looking for the source of the smell, I noticed the timer was literally on fire. I was in the right place and at the right time and unplugged it. It damaged the cord on my lamp and my electrical outlet it was plugged into. Submitted warranty claim where it says to call them, but they send you to thier website. Then you register there, and they then ask you to submit a claim, once you submit you must then fax them a copy of the claim page/email and a copy of the reciept. If you do not do this, claim is void. Also noticed the manual says lifetime warranty, but there claim page states 1 year now.... I am contacting The US CPSC and amazon today.
