I purchased this item in my normal shoe size (7.5) which was about a half size too small and the shoe itself was stiff and generally uncomfortable. I was nervous about how many blisters I was going to get trying to break them in even in my correct size. I debated exchanging them via Amazon, but I wanted to make sure I was happy with the fit so I decided to visit the store and try them on in person. When I went to Steve Madden, I asked an employee how small these shoes ran and she said they were true to size. So I told her I wanted to try on the shoe at 7.5 and 8, expecting the same experience I had with the Amazon 7.5 shoe. It was not. Not only was the 7.5 a perfect fit, but it was VERY comfortable and not stiff at all. I wore them home (am currently wearing them) and I do not have to break them in at all. Again, they are extremely comfortable and I highly recommend the shoe from the actual store. Maybe I missed something in the fine print, but there is no way the shoes from Amazon and the shoes from Steve Madden are the same. Mind you they are the same price, so DO NOT purchase this Amazon shoe. Go to the actual store and get your money's worth with a great shoe. Not the crap they'll send you.
