READ THIS - DO NOT BUY!!!!
I have been purchasing the L’oréal collagen moisturizer for over a year now and love it! I usually buy the 1.7 oz from whatever store i’m at when I need it. I decided to buy on Amazon because they had a bigger size plus I thought the subscribe option would be nice. Well I received my product and it is NOT the same as the one i’ve been using. I have a very strong sense of smell and can detect even slight differences which has led me to discover other skin care products I use changing one ingredient after contacting customer service, lol. Not necessarily a reason to discontinue use for me but I like to be aware of any changes in my skincare products. So first was the smell which is similar but different, not bad but it was the first indicator before realizing upon application it is much more “watered down” for lack of a better term. The original formula I purchase is very rich and high quality, thick and absorbent. This one seems to have a higher water content and just doesn’t have the same creamy rich feel that I am used to. So I looked at the ingredients (which they say is the same formula, new look, hmmmm) and the version I bought on Amazon has “sorbitan oleate” in it which helps emulsify water and oil. It also includes “potassium sorbate” “hexylene glycol” and “myristic acid” which all play a role in making a cheaper version of the collagen moisturizer. Emulsifiers, stabilizers basically added cheaper ingredients to make their lack of quality feel better and closer to the original AND the myristic acid is a preservative which has questionable sources - look it up and see for yourself. The version I usually purchase does not have these, you can see for yourself in the pictures I posted. So that indicates what I suspected - more water and less of the other ingredients which makes it cheaper for them AND also makes them liars. It is NOT the same formula. Do yourself a favor and don’t buy this product unless it’s the same formula as the 1.7 oz. I’m utterly disgusted at this deliberate deceit. I mean, what the hell? This is enough to make me quit purchasing ANY beauty product off amazon.
