I believe this product was a counterfeit!
I am very disappointed with Amazon for not at least spot testing their products. I installed this product in my fridge and ran five gallons of water through it and then tested the water with my TDS meter to see how the filter was performing. As it turns out, I get the same reading as my unfiltered tap water. It looks like this filter is nothing but a pass-through and is not filtering anything. I get a reading of 327 ppm for the filter and the same for the tap unfiltered. I checked my old filter which was in place of over a year and it gave me a reading of 220 ppm. I also have a reverse osmosis filter that I use for our drinking water and that does a great job with a reading of only 14 ppm. The bottom line is that the filter I received from Amazon does not remove anything from the water and is a rip-off. Unfortunately, most people don't have a testing device and so they just install the filter and think they are getting well-filtered water. They should invest in a meter, they are inexpensive. If I had not discarded my old filter, I would have returned it for a refund. Shame on me! Don't be fooled by the nice shrink wrap packaging, these filters are counterfeit junk! Would have given it zero stars if I could.
