Note that the 2014 Taschen hardcover of 1000 Record Covers does not contain pictures of 1000 record covers - the actual number of covers pictured is closer to 800. I also own the 1996 softcover copy of 1000 Record Covers - and that one does contain approx. 1000 covers. For some reason, the 2014 hardcover eliminates the entire section of 1950's covers- nearly 160 pages containing 220 photographs. Of all the decades presented, the 1950's was my favorite, perhaps because so many of the covers were unfamiliar to me. I loved the 1996 softcover version, and decided to upgrade to a hardcover version - only to learn that nearly a quarter of the content had now been eliminated.
