Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I rarely write reviews, and I really wanted to like this mattress, however it seems as though there are quality control issues. I read the reviews of some of the mattresses smelling like mildew, and I discarded them as people being overly sensitive to the smell of the mattress itself. I'm a chemist, and not easily scared of the smells that come with products like these. However, the mattress has been 'airing out' for about 3 weeks, and still strongly smells of mildew/mold, not just 'chemicals.' We also bought a Zinus 10 inch memory foam twin mattress for my son about a month and a half ago, and the smell I would consider normal for a memory foam mattress dissipated in about 3-4 days. I was happy to order a 6 inch for his trundle. We have unfortunately initiated a return of the product (amazon has been great about this whole process, btw!), because I cannot have this in my son's room. It's really unfortunate, because after our experience with the 10 inch mattress, we were really happy with the brand and our purchase. After this experience, I think I will switch to a different brand.
