My teen has a head injury. We bought this specifically because a gas stove and a head-injured person do not mix! Well, just a few months after purchase, our daughter turned on ALL FOUR BURNERS on the stove - all the way on. There was no clicking and no flame... just gas POURING into our kitchen. This went on for many, many minutes before we caught it. The Nighthawk that was purchased to save us from this very (unthinkable) event, was completely silent, from 8 feet away. The gas level was extraordinarily high in the kitchen... I am guessing it was well over 20%, probably by a significant amount. So why was this machine silent? I am absolutely floored that this product did not do the only thing it was supposed to do - warn us of unsafe levels of gas. We are truly lucky to be alive, but are so incredibly disappointed in this product, and pray that a similar situation never happens to anyone else!
