Retract previous positive review - purchased 2 units, total of 2 units broken within months
Knowing what I know i am very surprised that this unit still has a 4 star rating. I initially wrote a positive review myself after purchasing 2 MaxiClimber XL's for 2 locations after the onset of the pandemic. Since that time the first unit broke ("broke" defined later in this review) after 2 months normal use. This unit was replaced by the manufacturer after a lot of debate, hassle and delay - the entire process took over 2 months. The replacement unit has since broken and I am being told that if I want another replacement I will have to pay for all packaging and shipping even though it is still within the 1 year warranty period. In other words, they don't honor their warranties unless the customer pays all shipping costs and shipping these large heavy units is not cheap. At the other location the 2nd purchased unit broke after 8 months and is extensively rusted, even though it was always used in an apartment. The parts on this unit were not properly painted or coated. "Broke" The unit has rubber wheels that guide the up and down movement of the rails. The rubberized wheels eventually detach from the rollers and the movement no longer functions properly, or at all. Note that Maxi Climber does not have a company in the U.S. They only have a distribution center in Florida that imports these units from China and a call center somewhere in Central or South America. If you want a durable home exercise equipment, this is not the one to buy.
