Mechanically unsound
Mini Leg Press
This machine is biomechanically unsound. I purchased it for my son BUT, in order to get the correct angle to press on the platform, you have to lift your buttocks completely off the seat. I had to return the machine at my own expense and purchased another model.
THERE ARE 2 PROBLEMS WITH THIS MACHINE:
1. THE BACK SUPPORT IS TOO VERTICAL AND IT CANNOT LAY BACK ANY MORE BECAUSE OF A BUILT IN STOP.
2. THE BOTTOM OF THE SEAT IS LOCATED ALMOST 12 INCHES ABOVE THE GLIDING TRACK OF THE WEIGHTS
These 2 design elements make it impossible to fully extend your knees with your feet flat on the pushing platform when you are seated correctly in the seat.
The angle of the only photo shown of this machine does not allow one to appreciate the position of the seat. Regardless, it was not until I actually sat in the seat and got in the machine that I figured out why it it was so difficult. Notice that any other photo of any leg press machine on the internet shows the seat sitting directly on AND at the level of the glide track. I do not recommend this particular machine despite the low cost.
