I loved this series, until the last two books. Some much of this book is unnecessary, and the protracted ending is pointless. There was no true climax in this battle and the continued attempt at banter among Kip and his friends was painful. The biggest disappointment was the religious aspect; I did not foresee, or I would not have read these 5 books, that the god character in this book would be so important. Nothing annoys me more that the bait and switch. Started off as a series about deceit, political intrigue and magic and ended with all things are possible only through your acceptance of god. Sigh...this book made so many characters pointless in their introduction by the ludicrous nature of and reasons for their death. Do not recommend.
