The paper over the cardboard cover is peeling away at the spine. I would have replaced it but missed the return window by one day. Besides, I'm using it for a bullet journal so I don't really want to send this one back with all the notes that I have from the last two months. I'll look for something a bit more expensive but sturdier. (EDIT: Amazon did agree to replace or refund the journal and didn't require me to return this one.) The printed grid is darker than I would prefer. I think it should be faint and fade into the background more than stand out and compete with the writing/drawings. As for the paper thickness, I used fountain pens with Waterman, Metropolitan and Lamy inks and only had a problem when the ink blotted on the paper (usually when I make a mistake in my writing). Other than that, it's been good paper for a fountain pen.
