Incredibly low quality, can't be returned. It's a trap.
We have a piano lesson program through my church, and I bought 3 of these to provide practice keyboards to students who don't have any. Big mistake.
First off, I should have noticed that there is no brand name anywhere in the description. Big red-flag. No name on the product? No one to hold accountable for its poor quality.
Upon arriving, I played around with them for a while and was horrified by the poor quality. The keys are very unnatural feeling and squishy. Some of them click. The sound is "nintendo-quality," as in it sounds like something from the 80's. Some of the sounds have artifacts (the E4 key would double play each time I hit it). The key sensitivity is poor and occasionally will play as though you are banging on it really hard even though you are just playing normally. Finally, the entire shell of the instrument is made so cheaply that it rattles horribly when you play certain notes (the first keyboard would rattle at F#4 and G4, and any notes played loudly cause a rattle). Any of the instrument selections that have long duration cause the whole keyboard to rattle and buzz. Incredibly distracting and obnoxious.
No problem right? I can just return it. No. This is a "third-party" seller and is outside of Amazon's infrastructure. I received instructions to ship it to .. wait for it .. CHINA. No problem, that only costs twice as much as originally buying it. Does anyone doubt that this is duplicitous? The seller shipped this product from within the United States (only took 6 days to arrive), but wants returns delivered to a foreign nation?
I've written to Amazon directly for help, but unless they can do something I'm stuck with $460 of completely unusable garbage.
You have been warned. Do not buy this.
EDIT 6/20/20: After contacting Amazon, the seller sent me a new address in California to return to. They contacted me immediately (within a day). I am grateful for that, they are trying to make it right.
I still had to pay shipping of about $150, but it's understandable. Not every seller can afford to offer free return shipping. The products are in return transit, and I am awaiting a refund. If it goes well I will be sure to notify people here, and offer my apology for calling them a scam.
EDIT 6/25/20: The company offered to pay my shipping charge, so I sent them a copy of my receipt. They mentioned that they were concerned about my poor review, which is understandable. I was going to actually change it since they worked with me sincerely.. I thought. Then I received this latest email from them a few days ago. This is in their words, I'd post a picture but I don't think I can.
"About the return fee.we would like to issue it to you.Could you please help us remove the bad comments NOW?
then we will issue the return shipping fee once the bad comments is removed. Is it acceptable for you?"
Essentially, they are trying to extort a better review from me. I've decided to just pay the bill myself. I won't lie to the other customers of Amazon. I'm sorry IdealChoiceProduct, if you want good reviews, learn how to do ethical business.
