I switched to this tray instead of having to constantly replace the cardboard trays every 3 days thinking I would save a mass amount of money. The only issue was is that I didn't realize that having the cardboard crystal tray, on top of a trash bag hidden underneath acting as a liner, ended up having each litter box last so much longer bc it also soaked into the cardboard without smelling. When I switched to plastic, the first time my cat would use the litter box it was so very apparent, bc the entire house would immediately fill up with the smell of ammonia, having basically a cup of pee in your house with the non-porous material underneath it all. It's all nasty, we don't want to do it, but this made a SIGNIFICANT​ change in length of litter box length and I truly wish I could get my $ back bc it was like $50!
