The origin of a product is a legitimate concern for some buyers and is therefore part of the purchase decision. A seller that purposefully deceives a buyer is not to be trusted. I like to know where a product is made. Let's face it... most of us have had the experience of buying cheap crap from China and regretting the purchase. The Chinese are quite capable of making excellent products; more frequently, however, we get knock-off American or European products that are nothing more than substandard ripoffs. In this case the product is well made, strong and gets the job done. But the seller has chosen to wave the American flag all over the place, even stitching it into the product, in an attempt to deceive the buyer and charge a premium price. The claim "Designed in America" is simply ridiculous; as if a team of American engineers sat around toiling for months to get it right. Hogwash... it's a strap! I needed the straps because I was in a pinch, otherwise they would have went straight back. Since I can't return them I did the next best thing - tossed them straight in the trash.
