Did Not Connect WiFi out of the Box
Update 2 Mar 2016, what was not supplied with the Fire HD 10 was instructions regarding first time booting, a way to Register the Fire HD 10, without being connected to the Internet or Amazon, I would describe as an internal registration, for your Amazon Account Username & Password, which then would allow the User to then connect to their Home Network/Internet and allow Amazon to communicate with your Fire HD 10 and complete the setup. It was over 8 hours before I could use my Fire HD 10 out of the delivery box. I was at a point of frustration where I wanted to return the Fire HD 10 and not purchase any future devices as a Tablet, eReader or Computer from Amazon. Just out of the box only 3 hours ago 26 Feb 2016, powered up and got to the WiFi Screen, discovers my Network, I select and enter password, then nothing but "Unable to Connect to Wi-Fi Network: Connecting to the network is taking too long. This could be due to an incorrect password or a slow network. Please try again." I have powered off Computer, Router, Cable Modem, FireHD 10, rebooted and same issues. I have 15 devices that have no problem connecting to my Network. I cannot continue to boot the Fire HD 10, to see its settings that I need to access. Router: Linksys E3000, N-router, Modem: Cable Motorola SB6121 SURFboard both compatible with Comcast. Our Kindle Fire (new) connected no problems, and nothing has changed with our Network, and we have SmartPhones, Computers, WiFi Printer, another Tablet a Samsung, 4 Roku's and they have no issue connecting first time and every-time. So for now this particular FireHD10 sucks, going on 4 hours trying everything I can imagine in my 30 yrs combined experience with Computers and Networking. FireDocUSMC drdocyoung Today 4 Apr 2016, after using the Fire HD 10 about 2 months, Photos from the front-facing 720p camera were rife with grain, needs a flash, does not have a good zone light metering system, nor will it auto-sense, adjust/compensate at least for back-lit pictures or other exposures needs. Knowing how your digital camera meters light is critical for achieving consistent and accurate exposures. Metering is the brains behind how your camera determines the shutter speed and aperture, based on lighting conditions and ISO speed. (Spot, Center Weight, or Matrix metering) The rear 5-MP camera on the Fire HD 10 produces worse images than you'll find on a budget SmartPhones. I shall not buy another Tablet or other product which supports Digital Still or Video from Amazon, sorry "Only products offered on Amazon can be linked" so I cannot share Reviews by C|NET or LaptopMag Suggestions: Do Not Buy
