I bought 2 of these right after Hurricane Irma thinking it would be a good idea to be better prepared for the next time a storm comes through. I read the instruction manual cover to cover before attempting to charge the first device. I charged it using the USB cable and the radio showed a full charge. I charged for the exact amount of time recommended in the manual. After it was fully charged, the thing would not turn on AT ALL! I thought maybe I had received a dud, so charged the second one in the same way, again it showed a full charge. I went to turn this one on too and again, it didn’t turn on at all. Needless to say, glad I tested these out during my return period because they both went back and I will never be purchasing anything else from this manufacturer. I think I’ll try a Sangean, as it seems to have received very good reviews. A word of advice, if you are purchasing this as an emergency radio like I am, don’t put it in a box and wait to pull it out for the first time once you need it. Make sure you test it out when you can still return it if it doesn’t work!
