I gave 2 stars because the current price is a good value for 30 bags of this size and thickness, and the ziplock is strong as well. My problem with this product is that you cannot have a bag that smells so strongly when storing permeable dry (edible) goods, which is the use for this product as advertised. The best way to describe the very strong smell that emanated from the first bag I opened was that it smelled like Elmer's Glue. In my case, I was going to store dried herb material (leaf) in this. I put some in to test, and left it in the bag for about an hour. Pouring the herb back out, it smelled vaguely of Elmer's Glue. I don't want a product that off-gasses onto (and therefore seeps into) the dried good I wish to store -- both for safety reasons and for palatability reasons. Should be an obvious "NO" as far as food storage goes. A bag or container for food storage should not off-gas anything. I have purchased bulk herbs for decades, and they come in heavy-duty bags that are either see-through or foil, and none of these ever had this issue. Had to return it, or ruin a huge harvest of dried herb. I used some 2 quart canning jars instead (if you do this, best to store in a dark place because light exposure degrades the materials, which is why these bags are not see-through).
