DO NOT BUY!!!
For the love of Gundam do not buy this game. It is different developer, on a different engine, with almost EVERYTHING good about Gundam Breaker 3 stripped out. I am a huge Gundam fan, and I've gotten my hands on plenty of games which were great (Gundam Battle Assault 1+2, Gundam Breaker 1-3, to name a few), and plenty that were Meh (Dynasty Warriors Gundam, I'm looking at you!), but this game is utterly soulless, god-awful, and so many steps back that it practically devolved into primordial ooze.
**What you gain**
--Chaotic 3v3 brawls with no sense, strategy, or reason
--A weaksauce dating simulator (no I am not kidding!) which affects the branching story paths
--More mobile suits than GB3 (eventually, via DLC)
--Equip new parts during combat
--Insane lag in the UI and combat
--Periodic freezes in the UI and combat (especially when using the parts equip function in combat)
--The worst combat system I've seen in a game since Oni for PS2
--The worst Gundam game, possibly ever
What you lose (Compared to GB3):
--NO more parts fusion to improve your gear
--NO Derive Merge to get rare MS parts from other, lesser parts in the same lineage
--NO more SD MS helper
--NO more choosing AI Wingmen
--NO CO-OP for story, just the horrendous 'brawl' garbage that permeates the entire game
--CONSTANT parts breaking (detachment from your MS) that results in designing a 'perfect' MS being utterly *pointless*, as you will have parts blown off within moments and probably NEVER get them back for the duration of the mission
--PARTS HAVE DURABILITY: so, kiss your Barbatos Lupus Rex arms goodbye, because eventually their HP degrades and you are forced to use the new parts-equip mechanic
--Parts gained after missions are *utterly random* unless you BANK parts you picked up in a literal toy chest, which makes you 100% vulnerable while holding the button to bank them. Get hit? Sucks to be you, start holding the button again.
--Paint tool is stripped down significantly
--NO difference between MG and HG parts, statistically
--Builder's Parts mean *nothing* now, you cant strap on weapons, funnels, etc etc etc
--EX moves are locked into your parts and DONT EVEN WORK at first
--Forced to level up your 'inner frame' to unlock access to your EX moves. EVERY. SINGLE. LEVEL. It *will reset* every time, period.
--no more customization of 'Burst' or 'Awakening' abilities
--cannot 'master' EX abilities from part A and then use them on a MS that does not USE part A
--MASSIVE decrease in overall MS design options
--Actual fluid, enjoyable combat
--The ability to AIM GUNS
--Any sort of functional lock-on mechanic (seriously, combat is more chaotic than a Michael Bay Transformers action sequence)
--Any sort of enjoyment
--Possibly, your soul
I cannot stress enough how horrifically, ungodly, devastatingly AWFUL this game is. This is an utter disaster that should never have been burned to disc or encoded as a data download. I will be taking this to Gamestop this evening, so I can lose the least possible money on this piece of garbage. Side note: said trade in value is $26.40, and yes I am happily eating the loss because there is no way to fix this mess of a game without ripping out the entire engine and transplanting GB3 into it. Do yourself a favor and get a copy of Gundam Breaker 3: Break Edition, from the Singapore market. It has full english subtitles and menus, and is a phenominal game in every way that New Gundam Breaker is a complete disgrace of one. With any luck, the massive fallout from this game (Forbes has already picked up on the Japanese media around how much the game is hated in Japan) Bandai-Namco will make more GB3 DLC as a mea culpa for slapping the taste out of the loyal fanbase with NGB.
