I ordered this juicer for my Mother who is a cancer survivor. I did my homework and noticed Breville to be well respected by Martha Stewart and also featured in a top kitchen catalog I read. I ordered the entry-level model, Juice Fountain Compact. Initially, we were happy with the product. The overall look, size, fit and finish, etc. were all promising. Here is the problem: There is a plastic part called the integrated pulp container and after a few times being used, pulp from juice became trapped inside. No matter what you do or how much you soak and clean, the pieces of pulp cannot be removed. They are literally trapped inside a seam and you can see them but you can't get to the actual pieces. The point of fresh juice is to be healthy and it scares me to wonder how much bacteria could build over time as these small bits of pulp begin to mold or grow. I started to read some of the other reviews and now I can see exactly what others are complaining about. The customer service at Breville is near impossible to reach. I was on hold for 30 minutes, two days in a row with no luck. I am sending this back and will probably order something made by ACME, Omega or maybe even Jack LaLanne. My Mother really enjoys using the unit and having fresh juice and I think having a juicer is a good investment. Just be very careful before you order. I am sure the higher priced Breville juicers are good but they are too expensive for me and honestly, I now have concerns about the Customer Service they offer. This was a good test with a $99 machine and unfortunately, they seem to have failed me. P.S. A good point I read about juicers---buy one that allows you to order new blades and easily swap them out. It makes sense that over some time the blades would dull and require a new edge. I don't know how you would replace the Breville blades without buying a whole new mesh basket and such.
