This Product Creates Mold! Do Not Buy!
While we love our Instant Pot, the Ace Blender is not only problematic, it can lead to hazardous, unhealthy conditions in your kitchen and for that reason I write this to warn others.
Pros: Looks good, smart electronic controls, incredibly well-planned safety features, fast heating, and the promise of another fine “Instant Pot” product.
Cons: Constantly boils over whether you use smaller portions or the ones given in the joke of a book by America’s Test Kitchen. Even cold beverages will spin out of the top. When that happens the double gasketed lid squeegees out your liquid causing it to run over the top when you open it. Anything that comes over the top is easily sucked into spaces such as behind the handle and, worse, into the rubber seal at the bottom of the glass container. Once into these crevices, there is absolutely no way these areas can be cleaned, and you cannot get to it ever in time to prevent the liquid from doing so. I wonder if Instant Ace designers have ever heard of Capillary Action!
[See my photos showing the soy milk, rice milk, and soup that got sucked into these spaces, along with the mold that developed because of this poor design. In third photo, blade is pointing up to white gunk and black spot, (mold,) between glass and seal.]
The measurements on the glass container do not coincide with any measuring cups I own, throwing any recipes out the window.
This does not clean in the “Cleaning Cycle”! It will always leave a residue, even after two or more cycles. You then have to use the provided brush which combs the gunk and, finally, you will resort to a scrub sponge to clean it properly. Be careful of the blades, though!
Conclusion: Don’t buy this! Wait until they go back to the drawing board and their designers address these unhealthy design flaws. Or, if you’re okay with mold and miserable clean-up buy it. But you’ve been warned.
The problems caused by the Instant Pot Ace Blender has rendered the thing to produce mold in crannies and seals causing me to ultimately return the blender. I hope my review saves others from wasting their money on this failure of an Instant product!
