Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

First, I should note that we did not purchase this chair from Amazon, but directly from the manufacturer. We purchased this model but in cream/black rather than black/black. I seldom give a 1/5 review, but I do so here because not only was the chair awful, uncomfortable and in no way as advertised, the return experience was one of, if not the worst return experiences I have ever had. The chair itself is not as described: while the "bucket seat" does hold your back/lower back upright, it does not swing or slide as described. And unless you pick your feet off of the ground and shove all of your weight backwards, it is impossible to sit with your back against the backrest. My husband commented that the backrest must just be "for show." I sat in the chair for about 8-12 hours for two days in a row. My rear end was numb and my back was sore. It was worse than my existing non-ergonomic, worn out, $300 chair. But I could be convinced that this is a question of taste or preference. What is much worse, however, is that the company advertises a quality guarantee with free returns. They do not seem to mean this. In the fine print, they explain that you are responsible for the full cost of shipping and worse than that, you are responsible for ARRANGING your own shipping. They don't even provide a label or shipping directions or a shipping provider. The cheapest option available was $208 ground shipping from FedEx. The company requires you to disassemble the chair yourself following an unclear YouTube video AND to type up your own "return paperwork"??? They then ask you to email them with the tracking information from whatever shipper you choose and pay for. They are so reluctant to have you return the chair that they offer you a $299 discount just to keep it. I should note that the manufacturer appears to have only 5 star reviews on their website. I could not find a way to post a review there. I would not recommend this chair.
