Read this before you order this Toto Universal Flapper.
The person (below) that suggested "not to buy this Flapper" has a valid warning. After I spoke with Toto Tech Support today, here is the reason why.
This Toto Flapper will fit a Toto CST743S Drake toilet. The problem is that the Flapper can contort during storage (by the reseller) and will not seal when you install it. That is exactly what I observed and I could see that the seal (edge) was warped in various places on this new Flapper new out of the box. The Toto Tech Support person did say that they get calls about this very thing. The suggestion was made to soak the Flapper in warm water to encourage it to relax and hopefully then seal. That was a reasonable suggestion, but I did not find it appealing because my concern is that the Flapper may eventually revert to the memory-warped state and I'm right back to a leak. I actually feel that it would better for Toto to package/manufacture this Flapper such that the "storage" issue by the reseller is averted. But maybe that is just not possible.
I told the Toto Tech support person that I felt the original Toto Flapper (made by Lavelle Industries for Korky) was a far better product than this Universal Flapper that Toto currently provides. Toto no longer uses the Korky Flapper, but the Support person offered to give me the Korky Flapper product number that fits the Toto CST743S. That Korky number is #2021BP and also appears as just #2021. Korky 2021BP G-Max Flapper For TOTO Toilet Repairs
Amazon sells this Korky #2021BP product, so I processed the Amazon return request for the Toto Universal Flapper and then ordered the Korky Flapper. The return request process with Amazon was very easy and I have to say well done to them on that one.
Hope this helps someone else if you consider buying this Toto Universal or the Korky (original replacement) Flapper.
