After many hours of research for a wired outdoor camera, I decided to go with this newly released Stick Up Cam. Installation and setup were simple. The app is very simple and not very flexible - doesn't give you much of customization options such as adjusting recording time, night recording in color or b/w, etc. Motion detection seems to work well and notification is sent within 2 seconds of detection. The problem is the video quality. I don't like the fishbowl effect of the video but I could live with that. Day time quality is good but not great. At one time during the installation, everything turned red and the only way I was able to get it back to normal was to unplug it for about a minute. The biggest problem is the very poor quality at night. I don't know if my moderate to good wi-fi signal is the problem. I am going to get a wi-fi extender and see if that improves the quality of the images. I will be returning this If the image quality doesn't improve significantly. So far I am not impressed with this new Stick up cam and I do not recommend it. =========== Update 11/7/18 Installed (high quality) wifi extender. The signal improved but the quality of the images did not improve at all. Working with Ring to see what can be done. Red lighting, I was told by Ring, is most likely h/w defect.
