★★☆☆☆
Good taste but MUCH cheaper alternatives available for 1/10 the price.
The type of magnesium is great. A lot of research recommends magnesium citrate because it is one of the better absorbing and more bioavailable forms. But at 25/bottle it is waaaay overpriced. You can get the same stuff for 1/10th of the price AND it is in liquid form. The number of doses on this product is: 113 doses at 325mg/dose which is close to the UL intake recommended for supplements by the NIH for adult males. All great except that this works out to 0.22/dose In the laxative isle I picked up a 10oz bottle of liquid magnesium citrate for $1 at Target (Walmart, CVS and Walgreens carry it too). The label states that there is 1.745g / oz of magnesium so that means that a dose of 325mg is approximately 0.186 oz or 1.1 teaspoons. That also means that there are 53.7 doses / bottle which works out to 0.019/dose That means that the calm powder is 10x the price which I think is ridiculous. It is the exact same active ingredient, a similar citrus flavor (lemon) and it is already in liquid form so it mixes easily and it is one tenth of the price. If you bought 3 bottles ($3 total) you would get MORE doses than a $25 bottle of the calm powder would give you. If you really love the taste of the calm or feel there is another reason why this stuff is worth 10x the price, then great. Otherwise check out the laxative section in Target/Walmart/CVS to see if they have a bottle of this stuff in liquid form. I tried looking on amazon and the closest thing I could find was the calm powder. In case you're wondering there is nothing other than magnesium citrate that makes the solution a laxative. They just recommend a very high dose if you are using it for that purpose. For supplement purposes check out NIH to see what is good for you (for an adult male the max recommended is 350mg/day but i take 300mg or 1tsp of the liquid). Good luck.
