I know these are cheap and I ordered them in a nice light shade of green, but my last set of black-out curtains were also cheap and an even lighter shade of cream, and they worked, so the fact these curtains do absolutely NOTHING to block out the sun did come as a bit of a surprise to me. You can even make out the balcony furniture and the trees through them when they're drawn. Luckily they look nice and the sleeper in question seems not to mind, so they're staying, but if you're looking for some real black-out curtains - be warned, these are not your guys.
