After doing a lot of research I decided to try these out. The 10 amp rating was considerably lower than my TP Link smart plugs, which are rated at 15 amps, but the TP Link are also the size of my fist and block most outlets entirely. I just received these today and contrary to the product pictured in other reviews and in Etekcity's response on the product page, the version I have is only rated for 8 amps/ 1,000 watts. I went to Etekcity's website and attempted to get some clarification on the matter. Support was very slow at responding, leaving me to wait 5 and even 10 minutes. After waiting over 30 minutes for support to verify my order and the rating of the item in question my chat was disconnected. I was willing to compromise at 10 but definitely not for 8. If you look at Etekcity's other Voltson (Smart Plug) listing with the 2 or 6 quantity option it shows in the "technical details" that it's only rated for 8 amps/ 1,000 watts. In short, these things are getting sent back. I have no use for them. If you're looking into getting into the Wi-Fi Smart Plug game then check the rating of the devices you intend to use them with first. Voltage x Amperage = Wattage. High draw devices like space heaters usually won't work with most smart plugs.
