My wife and I bought this seat after extensive research/selection process. We made the decision to buy the Advocate 70CS after concluding it had the best safety ratings, irrespective of price. We installed it in our Honda CR-V using latch system, all appeared well (although it was slightly slanted to one side, we couldnt seem to get it straight). This week (after nearly one year of use) we were horrified to discover that the reason it was always slanted was because it was missing one of the two primary bolts used to fasten the restraint bar to the base (as a result, the latch system was completely compromised). When I removed the seat from the car, the latch belt simply fell off the chair! This means in an accident, our seat would not have been adequately restrained to the base. A few quick searches online showed several others had the same issue (missing parts). I called Britax, they are promptly shipping us a new car seat, no questions asked. I will be writing a letter to the President of Britax with my concerns about this obscene lapse in quality control. That being said, I still have high confidence that Britax offers the best child car seat available, assuming it is properly configured/equipped. I URGE CURRENT OWNERS TO INSPECT THEIR SEATS, and for new owners to check the seat for missing parts prior to install.
