The directions were difficult to understand because they were obviously translated poorly from the country where this was made. The pictures with the directions were confusing and unclear as well. I found the sticker that was supposed to be on the front of the seat, but the seat is NOT where I found it at all. Still, I figured it out and got it together. Once I did, I tried it out and found that the up/down mechanism did not work. I was pretty sure I didn't have it reversed, but found no other reason for it to not work. So I took it apart and reversed it, only to find that I had it right the first time. I switched it back and still the chair doesn't go up or down. SO the seat is stuck in a position which is too high for my legs to comfortably reach the floor. I bought this chair because I needed something that would be good for posture and back health, but now I am stuck with the opposite. AS IF THIS WAS NOT BAD ENOUGH... The black plastic from the arm rests has ruined a bunch of my shirts! It comes off when my elbows rub the arm rest or when I rest my arms. I noticed the plastic on my skin too from when I was wearing short sleeves. The black on my elbows came off with soap and water but the clothes are destroyed. . Since I have put duck tape around the arm rests so that I can make do with this "PIECE OF JUNK" until such time when I can buy something else. If you are someone who does not have money to throw away, BE WARNED! Obviously, there are some positive reviews, but why take a chance that you will be stuck the way that I am?
