We ordered two of these for our patio. On the first truly hot day of the year when the temperatures hit the mid-90s, the plastic actually softened and caved in a bit, causing our umbrella to tip over. It's since hardened into its new, deformed shape and is unusable. We live on a mountain in upstate NY, where temperatures rarely even get this hot. I'd hate to see how this base did in a place like Phoenix where it's hot and sunny all the time. I do not recommend this product.
