Bests & Worsts Reviews from Amazon

I'd really like to know if the magazine reviewers are actually reading these pretentious books they garnish with glowing recommendations or are the publications giving great reviews just to receive advertising dollars. This novel is filled with spoiled self-absorbed characters whom I dare anyone to give a darn about or to feel remotely vested in their sad pathetic lives. Mostly I feel ripped off by paid book reviewers who give every book a five star review. Just because a book is about rich New York elitists doesn't make it a great story or the writing any better.
