Read Reviews. Don’t. Buy. It!!!
I apologize now to the maker of the chair for my brutal honesty. Perhaps I will save someone else from my stress. I do want to thank AMAZON PRIME in advance for issuing a full refund WITHOUT requiring a return shipment. I had to remove my 87 YO Fathers recliner because it rocked and nearly caused a bad fall. I hunted forever locally for an affordable stationary WALL Recliner to replace it. He was nuts without it. This one popped up on Amazon. Some reviews made me skeptical but I was desperate. It arrived quickly. Tho I knew immediately it was much smaller than what he was accustomed to I decided he could adjust. It did arrive in two pieces. I opened. Raised the back cover. Slid the back into the grooves. One side went in. The other side WOULD NOT CONNECT. I pushed. I wiggled. I pressed. The right side flopped. Would not click into the groove. I pulled up on the back to pull it out to start over. The left side WOULD NOT COME OUT. Again. I pushed. I pulled. I wiggled. I pressed. Nope. I sat in the chair to see the effect of one loose side with my 115lbs weight and one stuck side. Loose side fell back. Nope. Not safe. Especially for a 5’7” 180lbs man. I can’t set up a return until I know how I am going to return it. Because I can’t get it apart to put it back in box it came in. I contacted Amazon by Chat. Explained my many problems with the chair. Requested a box be sent or permission to have UPS make a box to ship back. It was decided I should just keep it and was issued a full refund. Meanwhile, I am back to shopping for a chair. My Father is nuts without his chair. So I drug it back out of Garage where I had parked it, went inside it with wire and duct tape and stabilized the floppy side and put it up against the wall so he won’t go backwards out of it. So I’m looking at him today trying to lay back and I realize. Unless he leans way back (in the first position- not all the way prone which he doesn’t like ) and doesn’t move - basically sits like a statue - the foot rest - he must keep his legs elevated which is way he needs the chair - WILL NOT STAY UP. If he leans forward in the slightest footrest drops back into place and he is sitting upright. It is not possible to work this out with a man with full on Vascular Dementia. I just placed a plastic trash can under the foot rest to keep it up. Which prompted me to sit down and pen this review. DON’T BUY IT. Cheap. Is CHEAP. All there is to it. Again, thanks Amazon. Chair will be donated to Habitat ReStore. (Which I kinda feel guilty about but they take EVERYTHING!).
