Really disappointed. there's way too much dairy in these recipes-when the cookbook tells you it's to be avoided.
I had such high hopes for this book. I awaited it's release in America. but I was sadly disappointed once I opened it and studied all the recipes. this book DOES give a good overview of Alkalinity, what it is, and why it's important. It lists what foods are alkalizing and what are acidifying (meats, dairy products, oils, sugars). I was expecting a COOKBOOK full of recipes that were already alkalizing, so that I didn't need to really know or think about what foods to use each day-the work was done for me. Except....to my great disappointment the recipes -while they do contain alkalizing foods- have so many recipes that contain acid forming foods(dairy/cheese) I could hardly find a recipe that I wanted to try. I'm sure they're recipes are tasty-but I wanted a format that helped me AVOID acid forming foods, not encourage it. and I get it-I don't have to include the dairy in the recipes, but then, what's the point? Also this book is set up as a detox program. Where they tell to you avoid alot of the foods they use in the recipes in the book. and basically it's a really strict elimination diet. which surprised me because I thought I was ordering an easy stress-free recipe book on how to eat alkaline daily. not go on a detox. to me overall -even though it presented useful information in the beginning, this book was an epic fail.
