This is one of those products where the good about it is really good and the bad is so bad you want to smack whoever designed it. The important part, the magnifying section with light is the good. It's the best I've found with the largest viewing area. However, the base is HEAVY. Too heavy to try and move with one hand. So heavy that the light on top swings in one direction and the base in the other. I have it next to my sewing machine so I can do any handwork with it. But the top part won't stay stable at all, it swings because there is no way to stabilize it. There is a screw and a plastic ring to tighten it but they don't work at all. The screw doesn't hold the height, and the plastic part to tighten to keep it in one place doesn't hold either. Drives me absolutely crazy because the magnifier is good. Too heavy to ship back but some days I just want to throw this thing out the window. I've also had my engineer husband try and fix it but there isn't anything he can do because of the poor design. There is NO reason for this base to be so heavy. Right now the top swings in the opposite direction of the light while not using so it tips over. If they made the 2 screw tight levers to work it might have a chance.
