Buyer Beware
Buyer beware. When I purchased this console, it said in the description that it "shows limited or no wear, and includes all original accessories". I'm not sure who packed this up and sent it to me, but I'm not certain if they've ever seen a Playstation 4 before. If they did, they would know what it needs to function properly.
Now, in an original Playstation 4 box, you get:
The system
The cables necessary for the system, including the power cable and an HDMI cable
The controller, which contains a rechargable battery
A USB cable that can be plugged into the controller and then into the PS4 console to charge it
A Headset (which is more or less a little wire with a speaker and microphone on it, but it does its job).
I'm not pulling this out of my rear-- it's listed in Amazon's own listing for the Playstation 4, as seen here: PlayStation 4 500GB Console - Call of Duty Black Ops III Bundle
What I received when I ordered this was the following:
The system, badly scratched
The cables necessary for the system: an HDMI cable and power cable
The controller, which looked as if a dog had chewed on it-- part of the thumbstick had been ripped completely off, leaving it very jagged
... And that was it. I didn't mourn the loss of the headset, because I never planned to use it, but the lack of a cable to charge the controller, which is necessary to use the system at all, was not included. As one may expect, this was a problem-- it essentially made the system unusable as it was delivered unless I purchased an additional charging cable and waited another few days for it to be delivered.
So, considering that, the promises that this system "shows limited or no wear, and includes all original accessories", are both untrue. It seems from the other reviews that other people were luckier than I was. As it was, I returned this system and headed down to the store to pick up a new one rather than chance it again.
Considering that these days, the price difference between a new console and a refurbished one is small enough to be negligible, I would recommend doing the same, if only to avoid the potential problems that come with buying a refurbished system.
