I thought these bulbs would be great for my porch lights. Regular lights most of the time and the ability to change colors for different holidays… After installing the bulbs, I could not get them to connect to the app which says I need to be within 400ft even though I was closer to 4ft. A different step says they need to be that close to the Router when setting up. So, I moved them to a lamp sitting literally right next to the router. They still wouldn’t connect. There are no directions in the box or in the app to help. I had to search for videos on how to reset the bulbs (Power on 8 sec, off 2 sec, repeat 4x). Finally, got a bulb to connect. I tried connecting the second bulb the same way but it wouldn’t pick up any WiFi networks (the first one saw 10 networks). After resetting 5 more times, it finally showed my network with low signal strength, but it did connect. Problem is the app saw both bulbs as the same so they couldn’t be controlled independently. Eventually, I got everything sorted out and moved them to the porch lights (about 40ft from the router). The bulbs lit up and retained the last color setting before being unscrewed, however they were both non-responsive to the app. When working, I enjoyed the color options and the whiteness range was nice. But the setup was so frustrating that they weren’t worth it. I returned and found a better set with no issues.
