Cliffhanger Ending and Subsequent Double Whammy as No Follow Up Series
This was a great story and deserves highest praise but -- because the uncaring, insensitive entities responsible failed to ensure a follow up (Series or Season 2) for viewers -- especially inlight of the cliffhanger ending of Season, I have rated this the lowest star possible. It gets old after awhile when PBS or whoever is responsible hooks viewers (like me and countless others), only to leave us hanging onto to the cliffhanger and learning we will not be seeing any appropriate ending. Examples of what I'm speaking about are: World on Fire, Home Fires, and Sanditon -- these were outstanding stories (with often historical) drama -- only to leave viewers in the dust when responsible parties decide to not provide a follow up, appropriate Season to tie up the ending. I'm very disappointed at the indifference and insensitivity of these responsible entities who present these stories -- and as a PBS viewer and contributor -- as well as an Amazon Prime Member, please SPARE ME from the usual boiler-plate, generic, bum-rush, gratuitous, ridiculous response that they could not get enough viewers or do not have enough funds to continue which only adds insult to injury. I will try in future to seek information whether or not there will be a follow up series before viewing any more of these type of program stories. It's a shame that after all the work and tremendous efforts by the wonderful actors and actresses, and the outstanding stories themselves, that the responsible parties just throw everything away, including leaving the viewers in the dust. Even one star is a bit much. I wonder if responsible parties will ever be more considerate of the viewers who put them where they are. Disappointed PBS Viewer
